Jane
L. Kravitz - Residency Administrator,
has been working at the Family Medicine Residency since it's inception
in June of 1993. Jane attended Worcester State College and graduated
with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts
in Amherst, MA.
Jane manages the daily operational activities and the special projects
and services of the Family Medicine Residency. She coordinates recruitment
of new residents, residency orientation, curriculum development,
the annual updating of the Resident Handbook, Advanced Life Support
in Obstetrics (ALSO) Course, In-Training Exam, Budget Process, resident,
faculty and preceptor schedules. She provides leadership and performance
evaluation to the residency support staff of the residency program.
She plans the yearly Graduation event, Applicant Brunch, Match Party,
Residency and Staff Retreats to name only a few of her duties.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Jane's interests
include traveling, shopping, home cooked meals and fine dining,
theater and concerts, redecorating, reading, crafts, walking, and
cycling.
Patricia
D. Mansfield - Clerkship Coordinator/Administrative
Assistant, grew up in Peabody, MA and has been the residency's all-important
administrative "glue" since its inception. Pat keeps the
residency running well in many different areas including credentialing,
licensing, Notary Public duties, CME and other reimbursements, Treo
replacements, payroll for all Residents, Faculty and staff, ordering
of office supplies and serving as a residency-hospital liaison.
Pat also coordinates the residency's clerkship for Tufts University
and the largest family medicine clerkship site for Boston University
School of Medicine. In her spare time Pat enjoys horseback riding,
hiking, gardening, antiquing, as well as spending time with her
daughters and many grandchildren.
Ingrid
P. Long - Residency Admissions Coordinator,
resides in Melrose with her family. Ingrid is beginning her twelfth
applicant interview season in the Residency Office. She is responsible
for the compiling and maintaining of resident conference attendance,
processing Block Rotation Evaluation/Teaching Site Evaluation forms
all incorporated through New Innovations, and the infamous "Wall
of Shame", some payroll, and various other office procedures
affiliated with the residents.
Ingrid coordinates the Family Practice residency applicant interviewing
process, beginning with reviewing of the applications received through
the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), scheduling
of interviews, and the updating of applicant folders as well as
the applicant schedules and packets on their interview day. She
maintains and updates all information for the applicant season up
and through "Match Day". Ingrid coordinates the annual
Match Party and Candidate Brunch celebrations. She is also responsible
for other projects (large and small) such as the updating and typing
of the Resident Handbook, Alumni Graduate Surveys, Interviewed Applicant
Surveys, the acquisition and updating of these biographies, as well
as many other projects. Ingrid also serves as the liaison with the
marketing department insuring that the TUFMR website is updated.
In June 2003 she was awarded the Sidney Zeitler, MD Award for her
significant contribution to the education of future family physicians.
Ingrid has also been an "Avon Lady" for the past 20 years.
For the past few years she and her "sole sisters" have
participated in the Relay for Life in Wakefield, MA to support research
for the American Cancer Society. She and her husband Jim have discovered
another favorite past time ~ cruising ~ They've already been to
the Eastern, Southern, & Western Caribbean and will sail to
other tropical places of interest in the future. In her spare time,
she enjoys going to art exhibits, reading, renting videos, crocheting,
and going to the movies, and loves spending time with her friends
and family, including 12 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and
nephews, and her children: son J.J., daughter, Tiffany, and son
Jeffrey.
Lorraine
Avis Woods - Scheduling Coordinator and
Residency Secretary has been in the healthcare environment for 21
years. Formerly an H.R. manager, she shifted gears and joined the
TUFMR team. She uses her communication and detail oriented skill
to schedule the residents.
Lorraine enjoys spending time with her family including, 50 neices
& nephews. Her playful time is spent with her precious grandchildren
John George and Olivia Victoria. Her creative side is satisfied
by being a long time cosmotologist and soloist.
Lorraine loves to cook, garden, knit and take photos. Missionary
work has been her passion for several years. Her main focus has
been traveling to the Sugar Cane fields in the Dominican Republic
and bringing much needed medicine and medical care to these underprivileged
people. The highlight to her day is to watch the sun rise and sun
set, and enjoy her new home in NH.
Fran
Gianelli - Administrative Assistant,
lived in Salem for several years and now resides in Danvers. She
worked as an Office Assistant in the accounting field and has transitioned
to a position as part of the Tufts University Family Medicine Residency
as Administrative Coordinator.
Fran has a son Steve and a daughter Lisa and enjoys spending time
with her three grandsons, Michael, Nicolas, and Alex, being a "hockey"
grandmother. She also enjoys reading, renting and taping videos,
traveling and spending time with her friends. Fran has also been
a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the American Red
Cross.
Her most current hobby is ballroom dance competitions. She has
participated in six ballroom competitions including the Ohio Star
Ball and La Clasique in Montreal Canada.
