A LETTER FROM OUR CHIEF OF FAMILY MEDICINE
Cambridge
Health Alliance is pleased to join with Tufts
University School of Medicine to offer a Family Medicine Residency
Program. The residency program is based at the new state-of-the-art
family health center in Malden, MA, minutes from Cambridge Health
Alliance's three hospital campuses and downtown Boston.
Cambridge Health Alliance and Tufts University share the belief
that Family Medicine training requires a strong community experience.
To achieve this, residents will work primarily at the new Malden
center and the neighboring Whidden Memorial Hospital campus, a regional
community hospital in Everett, MA, approximately two miles away.
Additional limited tertiary rotations will occur at Tufts-New England
Medical Center and other sites.
Cambridge Health Alliance has a strong academic mission and a faculty
that is passionate about teaching. Tufts University School of Medicine,
through its Department of Public Health and Family Medicine, has
sponsored accredited Family Medicine Residency programs since 1991,
and has a track record of success.
During the residency, emphasis will be on evidence-based medicine,
healthcare quality, and chronic disease management. Residents will
work within an experienced provider team and will have access to
specialty programs and learning opportunities in asthma, diabetes,
obesity, and depression.
Residents will also benefit from a strong academic environment
that is committed to community-based medicine and culturally competent
care. At Cambridge Health Alliance, nearly 40% of primary care providers
are fluent in a language other than English. Its multilingual interpreters
are available 24-hours at all clinical sites. And, its volunteer
health advisor program received the 2005 Nova Award for community
service from the American Hospital Association.
Thank you for visiting our website. Cambridge Health Alliance looks
forward to bringing new talent into its regional healthcare system
and to helping you achieve your career goals.
